NYS Pistol Permit Recertification

NYS Pistol Permits must be recertified every 3 years. The law just changed. The NY State Troopers handle the Nits checks, ammo and sales. And the Pistol Permit recertification. Google it and get it done or the Troopers could revoke you permit and you will have to reapply and go through the whole procedure again or forfeit your handguns.

Before the SAFE ACT 2 a buddy of mine was a resident of NY and obtained his permit, but he moved soon after the heck out to another state. When he was due (or maybe it was some other residence issue check done by NYSP due to SAFE ACT..IDNR) he got a phone call from a NYS trooper. Of course my buddy was ensconced in his home in a free state far away and didn't give a rat's patoot what the trooper wanted. The trooper was obnoxious, demanding to know where he lived, why he had not informed them he moved, etc etc. My buddy had properly obeyed the laws of the state he moved to and informed the trooper of same, and challenged the trooper to "run him" for a NYS driver's license. The trooper (lazy) told him that he had to prove he moved and demanded that he RETURN his NYS permit to them or he would be charged. My buddy hung up on him, but sent his permit to them. He never heard another thing. (I would have wiped my butt on it first, but I am not as nice as he is)
One of the signs of a beaurocrat or a badge heavy putz (not sure which this clown was) is the absolute meltdown they have when a free person moves out from under the thumb and tells him to pound sand.

As a homeschooling family I had my fair share of run ins with secretaries, principals, and superintendants that THOUGHT they knew the law. We hired a law firm and every time the "man" told me what I couldn't do (contrary to what the law clearly allowed), I had my atttorney send them a letter, and then documented I did it, just to irritate them.
When you are within the law, STAND UP.

Sadly, NYS has gone down the swirling gurgle, and only the tail of the turd is still visible. I am so grateful that I got out in 2016 after giving my life to serve that state for 35 years.

In Delaware, the new law lets owners keep their ARs and other “banned” semi auto rifles purchased before the law passed. All they had to do was register them with the State Police and get fingerprinted. A lot of law abiding guys did that.

What do you think will happen when they ban ALL of them? Knock knock…..
