I was fortunate enough this year to qualify for the NRL22 National Championship held in Frederic Wisconsin June 21-23.
Coyland Shooting Park was the host location and Midwest Precision Shooting owned by Ruth Soucie and Justin Carbone took care of the MD responsibilities.
They did a fantastic job with the setup, COF, layout of the course, banquets, and every other little detail to make this a great experience for a first time participant like myself. 270 shooters competed on 22 stages ranging from 60-240 yards.
Anyone who has any opportunity to shoot an NRL22 monthly COF or an NRL22x match take the opportunity and jump in.
The camaraderie is wonderful and the atmosphere is the most welcoming of any shooting sport I’ve been a part of.
I ended up 88th of 270 shooters, so not bad for my first year dabbling with the precision rimfire game (which I've found is quite a different animal from centefire) and I’m already looking forward to next year.
My rifle setup is a Bergara B14r with KI Precision barrel, MDT ACC Premier chassis, Bix N Andy Tacsport Prox with flat shoe and a Nightforce NX8 4-32 on top.
Lots of fun for sure!
