NRA MEMBERSHIP

so......due to recent changes in the political environment we live in, and our chosen sport and absolute refusal to change it, should those of us not NRA members right now join? we are gonna need some heavy hitters lobbying on our behalf. any other organizations out there that do as much? they are gonna need $$$$$$ and we are gonna need help.:(

For the Texans, the Texas State Rifle Association is a great organization to support. They do a lot and are very good to communicate exactly what’s going on in our state legislature, what TSRA is doing, and how the members can help with specific bills that are coming up for votes.

The answer is, if you are not supporting one or more of the gun rights groups, join! If you can, make some additional donations. NRA is the largest and the ILA is under new leadership. If that's not to your liking, try GOA.

At the the state level, the choices depend upon where you are. Many states have an NRA affiliated state organization or various grassroots advocacy organizations. For example, in Texas, there is the Texas State Rifle Association and Open Carry Texas. There are similar advocacy groups in Arizona, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and West Virginia to name a few. All can use your support as we are all in the fight together.

The antis are after benchrest rifles, F-Class rifles, skeet, trap and sporting clays shotguns as surely as the black rifles and 9mm handguns. Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke, Joe Biden's point man on such things, said "Hell yeah we'll take your AR-15" and they won't stop there. Get involved!

I joined the NRA some years ago. Did the 1 year membership.
Only thing i got out of it was the weekly mail saying they need more money.
If they clean up inhouse, i may consider joining again. And that's a big IF!

I joined GOA. Seems like they are actually doing something.

Oh, don't forget USCCA!
I have a feeling more of us are gonna need them sooner, rather than later!

Man I am so depressed on this election results. Biden is going to tax all Ar15 guns 200.00each and high capacity magazines.
I own 5. Ar15 rifles and 50 high capacity magazine. I will loose a fortune. I have $200 tied up JUST in gun cases for them.
I belong to NRA but sure that’s going to be enough. Marty

Yes to the NRA and others as well -regardless of how you might feel about them, the NRA is still the 900 pound Gorilla in the room.

Perhaps MORE importantly, you should also consider joining your State Association. They are truly the front lines in the fight for our Second Amendment rights.

You can find your State Association here: https://stateassociations.nra.org/find-your-state-association/

Additionally, joining is great, sending money is even more important, but volunteering to help out is GOLD.
All of these organization run on volunteer labor (just like your local gun club).

Help out where you can.

Respectfully Submitted,

Frank

Expost Facto laws are UnConstitutional. If you obey them it is your own doing.

I recently left the NRA as std7mag mentioned. My money would
be better spent not supporting Wayne's life style and law suits.
Also.....Where was the NRA during this election. I only received
one letter, for money, and nothing on mass media support for the
incumbent.

I am a first year member now of GOA.

Oh, on that last mailing ?? I wrote "Fire Wayne" and sent it in.

Exactly my experience with the NRA although I was a member for many years I am not anymore due to constant harassment for more money and The internal problems with leadership I joined the GOA

I am a life member of the NRA and until Wayne is fired I will continue to ignore all request for more funds.
GOA looks to be the one to join and donate to, they seem to be more member friendly and involved in more states rights. IMO the NRA picks and chooses among the states, choosing the ones with better chances of winning the court battles.

I do not believe that the tack that the NRA has taken over the past decade is working. When I joined at a young boy, the NRA was basically a hunter safety organization. Instead of the high salaries paid to certain officers of the NRA, I would have like to see some adds debunking what main stream media makes out Semi - Automatic rifles to be and what the reality is and things like Hollywood movies showing even the military spraying rounds for minutes rather than magazines being exhausted in a few seconds on full auto. Instead the constant, "it is our constitutional right to own and carry anything" will no longer work. I own a lot of guns, Rifles, Shotguns and Handguns and live in a place where many are against guns for all the wrong reasons. I do support a number of gun advocating groups, just am not over joyed about the NRA, though because of some of the clubs that I belong to, I have to be a member or resign.

Example - I showed a close friend who's daughter is an A Lister in Hollywood, my Bolt Action Chassis Built Rifle and she reacted "Why do you need an Assault Rifle?" Then I showed her my Thumbhole stocked Ruger 10/22 that she thought was cute until I told her that the thing she thought was an Assault Rifle was in fact not and the Ruger was under New York law and I had to register is as such in 2013. I than showed her a .308 round, a .223 round and a .22 RF round. She was sure that the .308 was a nasty AR round until I showed her that the little .223 was what was shot from what was actually considered an assault rifle. Too Bad that Armalite Didn't Call the Armalite Rifle something other than an AR.

People need to be educated and brought around. Most of my left leaning friends are no Anti-Gun, but are pro-responsible gun ownership. Sure, everyone thinks that will lead to confiscation. I still have every 4473 form, from the last 20 years, (older ones I have legally destroyed) that I filled out while I owned a gun shop. All the ATF has to do is call them and any gun bought legally from a gun dealer in the last 20 years will be out there the same as registration.

Right now, every Georgian should get out in January and make sure we do not lose the Senate. If we hold the senate, I think we can get through 4 more years and put together a strong candidate for 2024.

NRA member GOA member JFPO supporter. Volunteer president of our local 600 member gun club.

Never missed a vote since it turned 18, local voting is every bit as important as federal, if not more....

You have to do all you can!

30+ year NRA member. I cut them loose about 5 years ago. They do nothing for me any longer other than bargain away my rights a little at a time, cry for more money weekly, ignore the elephant(s) in the room, & feed Wayne's coffers. The term Quisling comes to mind. Neal Knox was right all those years ago, & NRA's been swirling faster & faster around the the drain ever since.

VCDL has done more for all shooters this year than NRA.
