My Dad got me my first membership when I was a young kid, maybe 8 or 10 years old. I thought that getting my own subscription to Insights (I believe it was called) was great. I will admit that years ago I think I let the membership lapse once or twice but I have basically been a member for about 35 years.

I moved up to a Life member when our current leader (what a joke) became President. I moved up to an Endowment life member for the last election and seeing how things are going, I will probably move up to Patron before the election this year......

I looked at it like this...... A Life membership costs less than one good bench gun, so if I can afford to have a good bench gun then I can afford to be a life member. OR If you can't afford that, the annual membership costs about the same as a box of bullets, so if you can afford to shoot you can afford to pay someone to defend your right to shoot.

I could never understand why some shooters don't join. I firmly believe that without the NRA our 2nd amendment would have been rewritten......

Savageshooter86, Just go with a basic Life membership. You really don't get anything more out of the "extra" levels except bragging rights and you can always move up when the NRA needs extra help.

Have been a lifer for several years, but at the recent S.H.O.T. Show I moved up to Endowment member. Would like to move up about every couple of years.

Life Member. When I finally decided to do it I found it paid for itself in 22 years. That time has come and gone and the mags keep on coming. Payable in quarterly payments if I remember. If you are going to be a gun owner over your lifetime, you will save money and help the fight to boot.
