Now thats a crimp!

Friend gave me some old ammo on 5 round stripper clips. Marked "corrosive do not fire" I figured I would disect one tonight.

30-06
220gn projectile
44.8 grains of powder.

What interests me the most is the crimp. How in the world would you get that primer out? Even with it out I think it would laugh at my Dillon Super Swager.

That is Yugoslavian 8x57 ammo. It is berdan primed. You will bust your deprimer trying to get tht primer out. The bullet should also be 198 or so grains also

No worries, not intended to be reloaded anyway. Its been a long time and my memory moved to Hawai'i but the corrosive property comes from the primer mix not the powder.

Tell ya what... this guy is sharp! A quick check with my caliper.. definitely not .308". More like 8.1mm.
