Novice Questions - Competition

I am going to attend my first 600 yard NBRSA shooting match in Sacramento CA,10/18), and will meet with Lynn,on this board), who has helped me learn so much. But, I would like to learn as much about how things work before I get there, so I am only mildly confused, instead of completely befuddled. Is there any source where I can obtain this kind of information? The NBRSA on-line rule book seems tailored for those who already know more than I do. Basic info on terminology, scoring, protocol, classes, timing, pits, etc. would be quite helpful to me.
