I shot on the bench beside a guy last year that had one on and it was an adventure, I’m not sure it effected my score but I could see the blast through my scope and it was hard to concentrateI'm not sure it was ever on the Web site. It is pretty much left up to the match directors at their ranges.
I have seen them shot at UBR matches over the past 5 years occasionally.
Procedural rules, yes but UBR has different, although similar, equipment rules. Brakes simply aren't mentioned, so legal. But I can say for a fact that they are not often seen because they clearly are only tolerated, tongue in cheek. A new shooter..ok, for a match or so gets a break from the grief from others for a couple of matches and accommodated by benching them away from others, but that's it. No written rule.I thought IBS rules were being followed, short range matches do not allow brakes.
Okay, we have our last match of the year tomorrow. So far we haven't had brakes show up. But next year......Procedural rules, yes but UBR has different, although similar, equipment rules.
