Not my day. broke my B-Square driver in Burris base ring screw head. Help. FIXED

Folks. Bad luck this am. I wanted to change scope and rings on a rifle Using my B-square gun smith screw driver set broke tip of the star head in the Burris z ring scope base bolt while loosing it up. Been on gun a while. My fault I don’t think I got it seated in deep enough when I tried to remove it or just got to aggressive with it. So I am here talking with the experts again on a Sunday morning when I should be shooting. Ha ha ha. How do you guys think I should proceed in getting this tip of the star driver head I broke out of the bolt head in Burris z ring scope base screw ? I am sure this star tip is made of hard steel not sure what to use to drill it out with ? Not sure what I could use to put on the out side of the screw ? It apears the out side is round. Looking for a ideas this am. Thanks. Marty

You shouldn't have to drill. Try easy methods first. Magnet, canned air, gently impact it maybe with a small punch. It should have enough clearance to loosen and come out.

This too shall pass. jd

JD. Thanks for your help. But tried those ideas it WAS in there solid. Both the tip I broke off in it and the bolt it self
*****Thank God for Harbor Feight Store. Ha ha ha ha. I bought a Pittsburg bolt extraction set $24.00. The 1/4 hex head one fit barley OVER OUTSIDE OF BOLT HEAD ( it is round head bolt on base of scope mount. ) after giving it 1 tap with hammer so it would grab. Backed it out. Might help some one in future
All is good after a few cuss words in the beginning. Ha ha ha. Marty
