I had a 20MOA scope base on it but ran out the top at 1K yards with my load. I got a 25MOA base and I put it on tonight along with an old set of Burris rings but it leaves a gap of around .225" between the barrel and objective lense. I want to get the scope closer to the action/barrel.
The older Burris rings measure roughly .450" from the base to the bottom half of the ring, base area) and roughly 1.5" from the base to the top of the top ring when the ring is assmebled.
I have a gap of around .225" from my objective to the barrel, and would like to get the scope closer to the barrel and action. I can not seem to find a listing for the ring measurements anywhere including on Burris' site.
Can someone help me? Shooting F-Class T/R with a .308 and older Japanese World Class 24x target scope and I top out at 1,000 yards with my load. I had an older Tasco 24x Japanese scope on it with a 40mm Obj but the glass on the World Class is 50mm and much nicer. I shot this World class with a 20MOA base and had to hold 25" high at 1K to hit center. I tell you what you talk about challenging my limited skills try holding a horizontal line 25" high and then holding off left/right for wind! I had to literally look at two planes to fire my rounds!
Thanks in advance!
