Not again!

Prayer issued here.

I'm not a litigious guy, but I'm feeling angry about all the people I see looking at their phones instead of driving, and the pain and suffering they've caused people I know. So I'd be calling my attorney today, not tomorrow. The cops can (not necessarily will) determine if the driver was active on her phone at the time. The lack of skid marks are a vital clue, but I'd want to hear from the phone company. These adult children need more than raised insurance rates and a fine to teach them a lesson.

Damn. Cell phone was likely the distraction. Same thing happened to me about 5 or 6 years ago. I was driving a jeep wrangler he was driving some kind of econo box. His car suffered serious damage. Probably not totaled but not far off. The jeep didn't suffer much but the blow did utilize the head rests. I see distracted drivers all the time and it's always cell phone related. I think anyone caught using their cell phone while driving should loose their license for a year.

Two months, two cars and a very bruised wife. Thats a bad run… I’m glad she’s ok, angry she’s injured at all and by someone not paying attention. My thoughts and prayers she’s physically heals fast and everyone recovers mentally sooner than later.

The amount of drivers crossing the centerline has increased dramatically over that last few years, cell phones, tablets, social media, movies seem to take precedence with many of the people we all share the road with now days. Good driving isn’t a goal or concern of many. I’ve logged a little over 400,000 miles on motorcycles, it teaches you defensive driving, I’m always looking for cars rolling through a stop sign, vehicles crossing the center line and I never stop at stop sign/light and take the motorcycle out of gear. Whether in a car or a motorcycle I watch my rear view mirror and have avoided two serious accidents by simply getting out of the way of a distracted driver. It’s getting worse not better…. Be careful out there, it’s a bit crazy….

That was a hard lick. I've seen some really bad, like permanently bad, injuries from such a hard lick. Looks like the car did its job and absorbed the impact and dissipated a great deal of the energy. My best for a good and uneventful recovery for your wife.

Brian modern vehicles have antilock brakes they don't leave skid marks. You have to go to the computer now to find out if the brakes were ever applied. My wife drove us to church in her Subaru one Sunday morning, on the way home she was getting all over me about something and would have hit the car in front of us but her car has eyesight a devise that brakes for you if speed is too much and distance is too close. It saved her from causing a wreck big time.
