Nosler's RDF bullets ?

I shot a 50 shot Hunter Bench Rest match yesterday with my weight sorted Nosler 105 gr. RDF 6mm bullets. I was very pleased with their performance at 100 yards in very mild conditions. HBR only allows a 6X scope and with the mirage at 200 yards it was a struggle, but I was still pleased. I have a 500 count box I have yet to open. I will sort them by weight and try to shoot only the same weight in a 60 shot F-Class Mid Range sometime this spring or summer and see how it goes. I also have two 500 round boxes of 6.5mm 140 gr RDF's and I will try them sometime weight sorted at Mid Range and if they work I will try them at a F-Class Long Range Match sometime.

Tried the 140s in 6.5x47, and 105s and a 6 Dasher... Had the same RDF problems as above poster. 60 percent of the time the work every time "Brian fantana speaking on sex panther" haha thought that quote summed it up

Used the 105 RDF in 6 creedmoor, shot them to 1000,yards,best groups were under 1/4 -1/2 moa,Loaded at .040 off and .002 off, w/ H-4350 and H-4831sc

Yesterday I tried the 300 grain rdf in my 338 lapua 93.5 grains of imr 7977 fed 215 primer ogive to base measurement of 3.126 and I must say the bullet shoots good so far I got a .390 inch group going to try it at 800,1000 and 1400 to see how well it really works

The definition of a flyer depends upon the requirement (Cap Obvious). Last week the 140rdf hit 10 out of 10 shots on steel at 1000yd for me in 6.5x47, which meets my requirement for this rifle. Not as tight groups as my best which is 123 Scenar, but has fully met my needs. All decisions should be based upon requirements/needs, instead of going down the rabbit hole.

Well since this thread has reappeared I will add my comments. I weight sorted some 140 gr RDF's in a 6.5 Creedmoor and shot them at 1,000 yds. All 60 shots were at two different weights 139.9 grs. and 140.0 grs. As Dusty stated and I experienced I had three unexplained vertical shifts with the 139.1's and two with the 140.0's. Three 8's and one 7 were not appreciated. Now in F-Class that is unacceptable, but if you are ringing steel on a 2-3 MOA plate it may not be an issue, or just plinking. I will eventually use up all the 6mm and 6.5mm RDF's I bought but will not use them for Matches.

My exact experience with the 140 RDF’s at 2920’s/6.5 x55 BJAI....10-X-X-10-X-‘wide’ 9-X.... It would reproduce at 300 as an occasional out of group shot that I could not tune out. At 1000yds it really did sting!

I shot a few fliers at 600 and 1000 yards that were heading for a new zip code. I'm glad I was banging steel and not shooting f class.

The odd thing was that my lot measured out OAL and BTO darn near as good as the Precision Ballistics 142 I had been using. Go figure...

I did shoot a 600 yard f class match with the 105 in my .243 X Caliber barrel, PRS rifle. A 191,191, 190. Luckily I was able to hold the 9 ring that day. These were 2nds. I didn't measure them and I got lucky. I have seen as much as 18-24" fliers at that distance. I'm with Dusty and others. I sure would like to see these bullets shoot accurately.

I went through about 600 of the 6.5 140s trying to get them to shoot beyond 200y in my 260AI. Totally unexplained upwind 5s and 6s at 1000 is finally what lead me to relegate them to fire forming only.
