Ohio Varmint Shooter said:I bought a box of 55 gr. recently for my 223 Savage 10. (I'm currently trying lots of different manufacturers and bullet weights and styles to find what shoots best in my gun.)
In the same visit to the range, I had 40 and 55 grain V-max bullets shooting about 3/4"...where the Varmageddon bullets shot a horrible 4.5" group. That's off the charts bad! I tried to make everything as consistent as possible. Waiting 5 minutes inbetween shots....cleaning the barrel after each bullet type. (just brush then non-oiled patch)
That's as bad as that crappy American Eagle stuff I accidentally bought. 4-5 inch groups with that trash ammo.
I'll give the Varmageddon bullets another try the next time I'm at the range, but I don't have much hope.
