While going through some benchrest things I picked up from a friend who's father passed away and left all his rifles supplies to I found something pretty cool. I was looking through a few of the loading manuals to see his notes(I have always enjoyed old notes) I came across this fifth edition Nosler manual. On the cover page the book is signed by John A Nosler, Bob Nosler, and John R Nosler. Just not something you come across every day.

Thats pretty cool. If you ever have some time to sit down and read an interesting book I really enjoyed “Going Balistic” by John Nosler. Lots of old hunting camp stories and a walk through of how he started the business. One example; John was on a guided hunt with horses to pack game out and the horse pissed him off so bad he bought it from the guide so he could shoot it and use it for bear bait, 2 more bullets “field tested”

I will have to check that out. Years ago I done a lot of reading when I was really getting into gunsmithing. Seems since I really got started I couldn't find the time to read as I was always working in the shop, the older I get the more time I've started making for good things in life like a good read.

Now that's funny, I thought I had found something. I suppose they are all that way. Thanks for showing that.
No it was a limited offering. I believe 200 signed copies.
Still very unique and special in my eyes.
Other than these 2 copies I've never seen another.
My ex wife got me my copy back when I got into reloading 22 years ago.
She gone...
But the load manual will be with me forever!

Okay, I thought I had found a mass produced signature run. At 200 copies I agree it is still very unique and knowing someone had pride in owning it. Whenever I buy lots from guys families I try to do them right by how I treat their things, at one time they enjoyed the same things I do.

I live not far from the Nosler plant, my wife worked there for over a decade as their PA. Their chief engineer was a shooting buddy and we worked together at a different employer for ten years prior to him going to Nosler. In all that time, I collected all the Nosler manuals, all signed by John when he was alive. All later manuals are signed by Bob and the lead crew.

Now I'm getting up in years and wonder what will become of them when I'm gone, as I have no one to leave them all to.

l got my Nosler #5 at the Nosler Plant in Bend Or in 2002 on John A's 90th birthday. l was passing through Bend on a trip to shoot ground squirrels near Goose Lake on the Or/Cali border. A most unforgettable, once in a lifetime trip. l met Bob Nosler and shot ground squirrels in the SNOW
