Nosler Custom Brass

Hi
Have any of you had any practical experience with Nosler Custom brass
All input, pro or con is welcome. The stuff looks good on paper to me, lazy as I am. Thanks ED

would have to have run some tests on this brass to make an honest opinion but I will gamble and say I wouldn't be impressed by it's consistency.

arn't they running a special right now where they give free bullets if you buy there brass?

Nosler 223 brass measured 1.736 to 1.738, all 50 rounds. Nosler advised that is standard for there brass. They do it for AR shooters, besides that, you don't need to trim as often. I won't buy anymore.

I have bought 50 rounds of 300 Weatherby brass and 100 rounds of .308 WIN brass.

The Weatherby brass was as good as advertised, very consistent lengths and weights. Out of the 50, 42 were either 2.809 and 2.810 plus the other eight were just on the other side of these two measurements no more that two tenths. The 50 had an extreme weight spread from lowest to highest of only three tenths.

The .308 Brass was the worst I have ever purchased for that caliber from any maker even including Remington; so you know how bad that was. There were some rounds that were measured at 1.90!! I sat on them for months before breaking them out to use for hunting season, if I would have went through them right away I would have sent them back and demanded my money back.

Not sure why the difference but everyone I talk to mirrors this thread; sometimes in certain calibers they are really nice boxes of brass and other times just horrible.

When Lapua costs about $50/100 and Nosler costs $80/100, it'll need to have a consistent following before I'd give it a try, and I just don't see that happening in the near future.

When the Nosler brass started coming out I thought "hmmm, almost the same price" - until I realized Nosler comes in 50-pack boxes and Lapua comes in 100-pack boxes, and both boxes are about the same size. Nice marketing strategy there Nosler...

a late post on this validating all that has come before. after working over a bag of 50 cases of winchester brass for my .270 using the expander ball in the redding s die and sorting for concentricities less than 0.003" i had 15 cases left. it was real garbage out of the bag, crushed necks, etc. the nosler custom, while not exhibiting the crushed necks did not show well for concentricity either but have decided to fire form them during load work up and see what is left over.
