Nosler and their B.C.'s

A couple of the guys and I were talking bullets and their B.C.'s the other day and Nolser came up. My one friend stated that Nosler inflates their B.C. and its not as high as they claim. Case in point the 120gr BT in .284 which I shoot booth in my 7mm mag and 7-08 Rem, it boasts a B.C. of .417. Now Hornady's 120 V-Max has a published B.C. of .365, which to me is substantially lower . So, is there any truth to Nosler's inflated B.C.'s or is it accurate?

I know I probably could have searched this through the forum for an old thread, but I am hoping to get some fresh input on the subject.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Nosler is upping their game when it comes to measurements. the new RDF line is spot on with BC numbers, i am going to think they have revisited the old bullets but i don't know as i only shoot the 140gr RDF 6.5mm.

Other guys have used the 6mm RDF and have had good numbers.

Ill be the first to forgive and forget, those RDF bullets sure make up for it.

For me, "forgive and forget" has always included a requirement to make amends for past transgressions. Ongoing denial of past transgressions is not a sound basis for a productive future relationship.

"transgressions" think you might be getting a bit carried away. Dont think nosler was set out to get you.

They have updated the way they collect BC data. nosler was always a hunting bullet for the most part. the jump into the Competition market did come around until the CC line. Everyone has a learning curve and they have finally caught up a developed a soild line of bullets.

anyways before i derail from your orginal question. its always a good practice to test you bullets in your particular barrel. just like we do with a box test on a scope. just makes sense to get good numbers that you can count on. Between scope clicks and BC numbers you will find your answers.
