Last year I received an email from Match Grade Machine that they were having a Black Friday sale on some barrels. I checked their inventory and found a stainless 24 inch Encore barrel chambered in 445 Super Mag. I have a 14 inch Contender barrel so I bought the Encore barrel. Figured if my son and I ever deer hunt in Ohio we can use the twins.
I buy a lot of Nosler Blem bullets and stock up on their 44 240 gr HP. Chronographed some and they are doing 2240 FPS! Nosler's site list velocity range 800-Unlimited FPS and while I was searching their forums, I found some guys testing bullets by shooting at water filled jugs. Son and I went to our WV property so we tried the water jugs. Found bullet in 3'rd jug and weighs 92.5 grains. Lost a lot of weight but considering the velocity I'm surprised it didn't loose more. Won't use this bullet for deer hunting.
