Noser .224 55 grain fbsp

I bought some of these bullets to play with. I started off with the same load that works real well with Sierra Game Kings in my 22-250 (34.8 grains of IMR4064) and they would only do about 1 3/4 inches at 100 yards. I am going to try some Varget shortly.

Has anybody had good results with these bullets and what powder was used?

I've had good luck on flat base 55's with H4895 , about 34 grs BUT that's coming out of memory so check it. H380 would be another good choice, 38grs is a pretty universal load in this powder.

Howdy !

If you're not averse to using ball powder, might I suggest you try-out some WW760 ?

Also, for another ball powder perhaps closer to "Varget"; try H380.

I suggest you use something like Fed LR Magnum Match primers w/ the WW760; fer sher.

Thanks, guys. I am going to start with several different trial loads of Varget. If that does not do it, I will move on to something else. As soon as the weather permits, I will be headed out behind the shed to do some testing.
