Norma BondStrike 6.5 143grain experience?

Fairly new bullet. I loaded some up and the accuracy is really good. Bonded hunting bullet out of Europe. The only bullet they are offering for reloading or at least the only one I can find is 6.5 143 grains. You can buy loaded ammo with other offering in other calibers.

Looking for any real life experience with these bullets. I might try them in a rifle or two this fall, the accuracy is really good in a couple 6.5 PRCs I’m tuning up for hunting season. Good BC too.

I wasn’t expecting much, was hoping some our friend in Europe was trying them out on boars or Roe deer. I might get a field test in this fall though.

I harvested a mature cow Moose in Newfoundland late September 2024 using the factory loaded Norma Bondstrike in 7mm Rem Mag. Distance for the shots in the rangefinder called by my guide was 310 yards. The moose took 3 hits in the rib cage behind the shoulder angled forward. The animal was in a slow walk having just emerged from a river and headed toward the thick timber. The animal went 25 yds before deciding she was in trouble and collapsed. When we opened the rib cage all three entry holes were approximately within a 5 inch circle. I never looked for the spent bullet fragments as I was only interested in harvesting a meat animal. As you mentioned, this bullet is extremely accurate and deadly. My pre hunt range sessions showed 1 moa capability and I only used a fixed 4X glass on that rifle. My gunsmith who built and services my centerfire and Rimfire competition target rifles recommended this loading for my moose hunt. He was impressed with the Bondstrike bullet after harvesting several animals in Africa with it prior to my moose hunt. One might ask why I shot my cow three times. Answer: I did not want here to get off the river bank into the heavy timber.

Thanks for sharing. Moose rarely go right down unless it’s a spine shot, that’s been my experience anyways and that of many of my buddies in Alaska. Sounds like the bullet got it done and your gunsmith used in Africa and had positive results. Thanks again!
