Norma 203B

Any one know how to decipher the Manufacturer load date on the back of a recently bought 1lb Jug of Norma 203B. No complaints, great results 6mmBR with 108gr Berger's. Just want to know when it was packed and I can't find the answer anywhere. Thanks...Nelly

FWIW, over the years Norma Powders have been very consistent lot to lot.

According to Norma their powder will start to deteriorate after 20 years when stored properly, mid 50’s F and 50% humidity. They have a contact form on their site, possibly that may be a way to get the information you desire.

Called Western Powders(Distributors for Norma Powder) really nice customer service rep explained the magic numbers-Ten digit numerals are- 1st 2 is the month,2nd 2 is the day 3rd 2 is the year and the last 4 is the lot# good folks there...

Only the manufacturer knows what data it was made according to the lot number.

I think (but not 1000% sure) Alliant Reloder powders are kind of the opposite. Last 2 digits are the Year, the 2 before that are the day and the 2 before that are the Month.

I remember 10+ years ago Reloder powders had an actual date written on then.

Norma is great powders and all I tried worked really well for me, not having the ability to easily get the stuff has steered me away from it.
BTW Reloder 15 and 203B are the same powder, exact burn speed and made by the same manufacturer in Sweden. I have been able to swap my 203B loads over the RL15 with no change in load.

Lefty, I understood that about Reloder 15 and 203B as well, but it certainly that 203B burns a heck of a lot cleaner than Reloder 15.

Interesting! When we get back on the ranges in the UK - if ever - I intend to do a side by side test.
