NOOB questions part 1

sorry I am an idiot,

1) can I use copper bullets in blackpowder cartridges?
2) can you use brand new brass with a Lyman hand tool? without full length resizing a 30-30?
3) is there a special coated lead bullets for blackpowder that will reduce exposure while loading?
4) can you use a bullet puller to unload factory bottle neck cartridges?
5) is it dangerous to use FF blackpowder in pistol cartridge rifles?
6) can you use Ballistol for case lube?
7) on a single shot 30-30 rifle, can you load regular .308 diameter point bullets?

thanks

1) Yes, my brother and I hunt with them all the time. Somewhat more difficult to seat though.
2) Yes but you will have more consistent neck tension if you size first.
3) I don't worry about it. I have been 'exposed' to lead from both shooting and 48 years of commercial diving (weights) and have had my blood checked for lead at least six times with no negative effects or results. Just don't eat any.
4) Yes. I use an inertia puller with a foam ear plug in the bottom of the chamber so the point does not deform so it can be reloaded again.
5) Never tried, always used FFFg or FFFFg
6) Hell, you can use it for just about anything, can't see how that would hurt. Have a stuck case removal kit handy.
7) Yes but not in a tubular magazine. Single shot only.

Lead is primarily a problem if inhaled or ingested. This is why indoor ranges have such strong ventilation. Handling it is pretty benign. Just wash your hands when finished.

Seriously?? Are you from California?
As stated if you don’t eat them you will be fine.
Although I have not been checked for “lead content” I have been piddling with bullets for many years. Heck, I have an uncle that was shot in the eye when he was 19 with an old .38 lead bullet. Still in his head due to Dr. afraid to remove it. He is 72 now. Not in the best of shape but other than a glass eye, no problem related to lead.
Maybe it was “coated”?

Yes, both inertia and collet types. However, if the bullets are crimped, it might be easier if you seat the bullet slightly deeper before you pull it. It will help break the bond with the case neck.

How bout a cannelure groove? He asks about a 30-30 a lot so i suspect a groove and crimp is involved?

Thanks for your answers

But I don’t understand (2)

For most of my reloading life (~50 years) I only used an inertia puller. And I pulled some crimped in a cannelure groove. Took a lot of hits. I more recently switched to a collet puller. It is so much easier to use.

Both of those are useful for sure. What i mentioned is when you said seat them deeper and thought he may have cannelures on the 30-30 bullets hes talking about
