No Grandson of mine...

20PPC

No Grandson of mine is going to shoot an ' UGLY ' gun.
Thanks for the inspiration from @Bc'z for the idea of the pattern.
He does some fantastic work and I would definitely have him do mine if I didn't have someone closer.
I am very fortunate that one of my closest friends and shooting buddies @Ronnie milford owns a body shop ( Milfords body shop in Cairnesville GA.) and is the best in my eyes at painting anything, his work is flawless.
When my youngest grandson Remy told me he wanted to start shooting I mentioned it at one of our matches.
Several fellow shooters offered to help with the project donating their services.
Miles Gibby of Gibby's Gunsmithing did the clambering, Ronnie Milford painted this beauty
And Bill Shavers @Billy Bob provided us with a 30 PPC reamer and brass.
My heartfelt Thanks go out to these fine men as well as @JimCline and the rest of the IBS SEC score shooters for all their support.
They've shown that getting and keeping the youth involved in our sport is a priority.

I am scared to find out what kind of bolt handle might go on that.

Good job, papaw, gramps, or whatever he calls you, hope you two have many wonderful years of shooting together. The only thing I have found that I love more than my children is my grandchildren.

Dang, that looks good! Remy, boy, you have acquired some people that will become some of the best friends you will ever have. Take good care of them, and PLEASE don't drop that rifle. All of us want you to shoot well.

@Bc'z it was the picture of the red stock you did that got this in motion.
Most Marbleized paint has much less black showing but the one you did had the much more open pattern which I thought was awesome.
When I told Ronnie what I wanted he said " no problem " and he got it done.
When Remy saw it he was very excited and he and his brother argued who had the best looking rifle.
Life is good for this old man.

This old man is very happy for the 20ppc "old man". A job well done for the kids sir. Do not forget Lisa. So, now every match is a true family affair. If you keep this up, you can start your very own range right here in town. :):)

His brother's rifle is the red lightning bolts
If I remember correctly.
Your gonna have to have them shoot it out for bragging rights! Lol
I painted 2 LRB stocks for 2 members who are really good friends. The red 1 belongs to @jvw2008 that gave you inspiration, and the matt black Von Dutch of @DHuffman. I love both stocks and have become friends with both. Let's just say I'm staying out of it.
I might stir the pot a lil bit but refuse to pick favorites!!
Those grandsons of yours will cherish those rifles the rest of thier lives through many barrels.
Be sure to tell Ronnie I said great job!! I love that color of candy.
Brett

Great memory Brett, his older brother gage does have the red lightning bolt rifle you mentioned.
This will be Remy's first year and will have to work at beating Gage because last year ( his rookie year ) he placed 32nd overall out of almost 250 shooters for IBS score shooter of the year.
It doesn't matter where they end up its just getting them involved so they can enjoy it for many years and keep the sport going.
