Nikon Customer Service Problems

I have a cracked turret cap on a Nikon Prostaff 4-12 scope on one of my hunting rifles.

I contacted them on 1-21-16 and "Anna" said they would send me one out.

On 5-16-16 I contacted them again because I never received them and "Jessica W." said they may have had a supply problem from overseas but they would get them out immediately.

On 10-5-16 I contacted them again because I never received them and "George" said they were sent the last time I contacted them. I told him we wouldn't be having this conversation if they had sent them. He checked my address etc etc and said they would send them again. This guy got pretty ugly about it.

Here it is 10-25-16 and still have nothing.

Is this SOP for Nikon?

Does anyone have an inside contact for Nikon they would share?

Does anyone know a forum that Nikon monitors that I could post on?

my only experience is I recently had an older model Nikon Monarch fixed 4x go bad....I got online and filed out the repair forms and mailed it in per instructions. Within 2 weeks I had a Brand New Nikon scope as replacement because my older model was out of production. Instead of calling you might try their online service. My experience went great.
 
D., That is definitely not Nikon's SOP I promise you. I do freelance work for Nikon and know a few folk's who can probably help you out. Send me your full name, address, phone/e-mail along with model # of scope and I'll see if I can't get something to you ASAP. I will also pass along your CS experience to some folk's who can follow up on why you had the experience you did.

That's a nice gesture, but if his original story is true, which I don't doubt it, one shouldn't have to "Know Someone" to get something done on this situation. Hopefully they will make good on it and give him some clarification as to why it was not handled properly.

Trust me, it's true.

The funny thing is, I have sent scopes in for repair and never had a problem.

The tech support guy told me they have had parts procurement problems with scopes made in China especially on the ones they have changed designs on a few times.

I bet if I had pulled the whole scope off and sent it in, they would have probably sent me a new one if they didn't have the cap.

I appreciate Bart stepping up and helping.

Maybe I can get that black electrical tape off my scope turret before long!
 
UPDATE:

Giant box showed up at my door today from Nikon with a new scope turret cap inside!

Thanks bman940 for pulling some strings or whatever you got stirred up.

My hope in humanity is restored.
