I use a 6.5-20 Monarch with a fine x-hair on my light 1000 yard 300wsm.The scope has served me well. The only reason the rest on our 1000 yard guns don't wear Nikon is the fact my daughter likes more power on her guns. When the 6-24 is released her light gun will be switched to the nikon...Wears a 24 power weaver now. Our heavy guns wear a 6-24 weaver and a stright 36..When and if Nikon brings out an 8-32 and or a stright 36 power all our 1000 yard gun will wear Nikon..I've bought and sold alot of scopes...Never sold a Nikondmoran said:to Boyd---
Do you use the Nikon's on your 1000BR guns ?
If so, which models.....and which retical?
Any other and all feedback here from you would be appreciated.
I'm on NF 12x42's with my BR deals, but am looking for cheaper options for a couple new gun builds......

Yes my Monarch is a 1" tube...I feel Nikon has taken a BIG step to break into the target shooting market. After being one of the biggest hunting scope makers on the market. If they are smart.Which I have a feeling they aredmoran said:Boyd --

Is there 8x32 in the works from them for the future?

I personally didn't think the Monarch was any brighter or sharper than any of my Leupold VX III's, plus a few years ago, Nikon's Warranty wasn't that great. I understand they NOW have a Lifetime Warranty, but they still don't have the MOA adjustment range for elevation, that Leupold has. Also, I never liked the idea of a scope that was glued together, vs. the easily repairable screwed together types. Everyone has their own opinion.

A "few years ago" Nikon's warranty was lifetime. And it followed the scope, not the original purchaser. About a decade ago, Nikon's stated warranty was 25 years in length. Is this what you mean by "wasn't that great"?
As to the adjustment range, the Nikon in question has a 1" maintube, so the internal elevation range is commensurate with that limitation, just like ALL other manufacturers building similar scopes. As the glued together vs. screwed together, you might want to tighten your own screws before you spew this kind of mis-information. The Nikon Monarch is built in a fashion similar to your beloved Leupold VX3, but in my opinion is clearly better AND less expensive. The Monarch can most certainly be disassembled for repair.
I've had at least twenty Leupold scopes. Never less than a VX3.,Their VX2, VX1, and others not even being worth consideration in my opinion. Far better scopes available for the price point...) I currently have three Leupolds.
I've had about half-a-dozen Nikon scopes. I currently have five Nikon scopes. That's my opinion.![]()
