I have a 5-20x56mm on my 257 WBY. It's awesome! It's not far behind its brother, the ATACR.

When were these scopes used, before or after WW2?

I have the NF SHV 3-10 x 42 (I think) w/ MOAR sans illumination (so I could get the side focus). I have found the exact opposite when comparing to my VX5 3-15x44. To my eye, the Leupold glass is far superior. If you like what you see in the SHV, go with it. It doesn't make you crazy. Our eyes are all different, and mine ain't great!

I know these are old posts, but I’m with you. My LHT and VX3 are much more clear than the SHV. It does have repeatable turrets but clarity is lacking by a long shot. I have the SHV 3-10x42 MOA illuminated.
