Nightforce Scopes

I went to the Nightforce web page and read everything. I did not read the scopes were waterproof or fog proof?? I also looked for their guarantee. I couldn't find it on the web site?? I heard (but don't know it as fact) that the Nightforce scopes have a 5 year guarantee but only for the origional purchaser. Is that true? I see a lot of used Nightforce scopes "forsale". Why is that? What are people's experiences that have had this scope or are using one right now?

Waterproof, fog proof, unlimited warranty not limited to the original purchaser. Doesn't cover stupid though.

David: Bought my first NF last Spring, a 12-42xBR, used, but cannot be told from new. Was so impressed with it then bought another, exact same model. Just recently bought my third, this one an 8-32xBR. Cannot find a single thing I do not like about them. As far as the number that are "for sale", I also see a lot of Sightron's, Leupold's, Weaver's etc. that are for sale, but to me that does mean they are sub-standard or no good. :)

I am fortunate to have three NF NXS scopes. They are built like a truck, but one that is a quality item. They are clear throughout the entire range, unlike some scopes that get a little hazy at the high end. I have npr1 reticles in all three. My son got a pd last year at a measured 740 yds with a nf scope.

I would have to bet that most that get rid of their NF scopes are stepping up to a March or someother higher $ optic.

I just bought my 2nd and 3rd NF,have been very happy with them. They track very well and the glass is good. The only drawback is their weight,if you are shooting in competition, the weight may be a factor.I know that a lot of used ones that are for sale are because you can trade for less cost than what a reticle change would cost. Nightforce end up for sale mainly due to folks trading up to the latest, and usually more expensive whiz-bang. March in the competitive arena or S&B, Heritage or Hensoldt in the tactical arena.

Recently picked up my 3rd Nightforce which means another Leupold will get bumped down the ladder to a lesser rifle.

+ 1 what Donald has said here + sometime's they have a nsx and want a br or visa-versa and don't have the $ for both. For what it is worth I have several NF scopes, One being a 5-22x56 nsx mounted on my AR 50 been punishing it on that huge rifle for about 10 years now with not one single problem :)

Great scope, albeit a bit heavy. Just what is needed on a mil-spec sniper rifle or any other place you want a bomb-proof scope. Optics are super. Some guys trade equipment like they do their cars; each to their own. My NXS 5x22x50 is a keeper.

I own 3 NF: their smaller 2.5-10 versions. I just wish we could get something like the 2.5-10x32....about 6 oz lighter! I know, that is their light version. ;D

Have 3 NXS NF 14-42x-all bought used, 2 from this site.

After the purchase of the first I called NF and was told lifetime guarantee regardless of what number owner you are - thought I would have to fill out some kind of registration-guy said "nope, just call us and ship it back"

+1 on most everything else written here-they are one tough scope.
