Nightforce reticles

For 1000 yard Bench Rest I like the DD. You can center the main dot in the white of the target and leave a ring of white around it.

For hunting/long range plinking with my 6.5-284, I have a R2 reticle I really like. I'm torn now between that or the R1 for the next build.

I like the CH-1 on my BR and the Mil-Dot on my NXS. As Alf noted, the R#s & DD have some nice features as do the RR, MLR and CH-2. Evaluate your use, talk to some folks and try to look at as many as you can. Kind of an individual preference.

I've tried different ones and keep coming back to the NP2-DD. Why? Because I find it so much easier to align on the target and don't lose it like I do with crosshairs sometimes. I admit you can't range with it, but that's why they make laser rangefinders.

I'm about ready to sell my 10x50x60 Sightron, after all the DD's I just can't seem to take a liking to the fine crosshairs.. I'll run it for while but it will probably find a new home just because of the reticule.. I love that floating dot in the NF........

Because there are more hash marks for rangeing.

I realize that. R1 has 1 moa marks, R2 2 moa.

With someone that has no plans to use them to range, I guess that's why I'm leaning to another R2. Range with the rangefinder and click in to hold dead center.

That's the good thing about N.F. reticles they have something for everyone. What someone else likes for a certain kind of shooting you may not. I use my NP-R2 for 600 yard F-Class and 1000 yard Bench. There may be another type of reticle they offer I may like better if I had the chance to try one , but untill then I'll be happy with what I'm useing.

I have the FC-2 in a NXS 12-42x56 which is highly unusual since it was designed for a CQB scope. I love it because it has a big dot within a circle which is ideal for me in any/any NRA prone matches where the wobble against a black target may make seeing a finer reticule very difficult.

I have several of the NSXs and one BR all with the NP-2DD. Once you shoot with this reticle I doubt that you will be able to switch to another. It is a dream; no extra clutter and target acquisition is truly simple. I am a 'clicker', so the extra dots or hashes are just that,,, extras.

NP-2DD from the well qualified advice of an individual on this site. Considered the CH-1, but realize now they are too fine for my eyes. If there is another NF in the future, it will also be with the NP-2DD. ;)

Well, I went ahead and ordered a NXS 12-42 with a NP-2DD reticle. I like the fact there is nothing around the dot. I was contemplating the CH-2 and CH-3, but the dot on 3 looks like a head of a needle!

The CH-2 dot is .2moa and teh 2DD dot is .1875 moa.

Yes, the dot on the CH-3 is very tiny. That is why I like it so much. You can be very precise with it.

NP2-DD I have two 5.5-22x50 no clutter or distraction fantastic in low light and using a spotlight 23 Wallabies and a fallow Buck will agree last week end. Wish I could have it in my S&B PMII 5-25x56. I am a new convert to Nightforce. Contact Alex at Eurooptics I have nothing but praise for his service.

Which one of these three would you choose as the best if you want to hold off for wind on an F-class target.... NP2-DD, NP-R2, or CH-2?

With all the reticles that NF has, they don't have a great reticle for windage hold offs in the BR series. I have the NP R1 reticle in my 5.5-22 NXS's and I absolutely love this reticle. Why they don't offer it in the BR baffles me.

The NP R2 has 5moa windage hash marks which for me is way too course for my liking. I went with the NP2 DD in the BR scope because it is 2moa from the center dot to the ends of the posts @ 22x and 1.1moa at 42x which I can work with for windage hold offs.
