Nightforce or Leupold?

Hey Guys,

I'm looking at either getting the Nightforce Benchrest model 12-42x or the Leupold Competition 45X45mm scope for my Remington 700 in a .308 caliber. I want to shoot from 100 yards to 500 yards and up to 900 yards. The weight of the scope doesn't matter because I'm not entering any competition matches. I just want a scope that is dependable and that will meet my requirements above. So can anyone tell me which scope is better, the Nightforce or Leupold?

A Leupold 8.5-25x50,make sure you get fine crosshairs) will do the job but if you after more power I would go a Nightforce.

I think a variable scope would be better suited for what you are after so maybe not a 45x Leupold bechrest. Premier can increase a Leupold to 20-50x if you would like a Leupold with more power?

I use Nightforce scopes and they are very good. One in 8-32 and the other 12-42... Love them..

Both Leupold and Nightforce are excellent.... choice is yours!

Yes they are expensive, but they are worth every penny! I swore for years I'd never pay that kind of money for a scope, but after buying the first one, I'd never buy anythig else. I'm ruined now.

It is going to be used for target shooting. I have another rifle for deer hunting.
