NXS is a SFP design. Cronus is FFP. Do you have a strong preference whether between FFP or SFP reticles? Both are nice scopes. Cronus is a newer design, so it will likely have an edge overall in terms of optics. If you are looking in this price range, Delta Stryker HD may also be worth a look. I have both the 5-50x56 SFP and 4.5-30x56 FFP versions and they work very nicely.

I don't know much about the Athlon but I have several NXS scopes and they are great. Nothing fancy just a good repeatable scope with descent glass. I had a Razor 4.5-27 and the extra power was really nice when shooting past 1500 yards IMO. Good luck

I have an Athlon Cronus FFP its glass is superior to the NSX . I also have Trijicon 5-50x56mm its really nice and under 2 k on amazon . Zeiss V6 5-30x50mm and its the best glass of them all .

Same here, have both Trijicon/Deltas and are excellent scopes. If you want bulletproof, the NXS is the choice.

I have a Cronus BTR. The glass is excellent and it is very easy to get behind even at 29x and it tracks and functions with no issues. If you go with a Cronus keep in mind that the average used price is around $1200, which is a steal IMO. Another option that i strongly considered was a used Bushnell DMR II Pro. I’ve seen a couple of those going for around $1100 used, but they aren’t illuminated, if that’s something you want.
