Nightforce Competition

I have one with the fine crosshairs w/ dot and two with the NP 2DD reticles. I shoot them at both LR and MR. It would be hard to choose one between the two reticles. Both are easy to hold off accurately and offer great clarity of the target on even fairly heavy mirage days like last Saturday when I was holding the edge of the eight/seven ring for tens.( I was using the FCH w/small dot)
Just ask someone at your next match to take a look at theirs and see which you prefer.

You did not state intended use.

For 600 and 1,000 yard benchrest I like the 2DD.

I have a Match with the MOA hashmarks. I find I center up the dot in the 10 ring faster with the 2DD.

Thanks for the comments. Will use in 600 and LR F-Open class. See it is offered with a FCR-1 and DDR-2 but I don't know anyone that has one. Maybe they are too busy. The FCR-1 does have 1 moa increments.

I have two 2013s with the DDR reticle that I use for MR and LR F-TR. Works real well for me.

I like the FCR-1. Being an old guy I like the center without the dot. Dots will tend to float with older eyes and between mirage dancing the bull and geezer eyes dancing the center dot can make for an interesting day. The crosshair of the FCR-1 is plenty fine enough to do anything you need it to. I like the hash marks, I think that reticle was well thought out.

+1 also I found the small dots get lost in the targets as well. That's why I went to the FCR-1 myself

This some very useful information for me personally. I am a really old guy with glaucoma and my eyes fatigue rather quickly. I have trouble seeing back on black and suspect the FCR-1 would be best for me. Wish I could look through a couple but no one I know has one.
Thanks to all.

My wife and I both have the FCR-1 and I like it for the type of long range silhouette we shoot. We don't have time for clicks so it makes it nice for a consistent hold off for the conditions.

I like the FCR reticle since I tend to see wind and mirage in terms of minutes of wind. Since I do not like to click once I start a string I can make hold overs based on minutes on the reticle (@ 40x).
For me it offers a little more precision than holding rings.

My other 3 NF scopes have the NP-2DD reticles so when I got a Comp it was pretty much a no brainer, DDR2 here. It is the same but different. I'm happy with it. I shoot F class

FCR 1 for all the reasons above. Have no problem lining up center (easy to get used to when I first got it) and holdovers are outstanding.
