NightForce Competition Scopes "For Sale"

I have recently seen several of the NF Competition scopes in "For Sale" ads.
Just wondering why. Any issues/problems that have been identified?
Are people bailing from these scopes for a reason?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks.

And I missed out on two of them that were exactly what I was looking for.......... >:(

The Competition model was introduced in 2013. It had a number of advantages over the BR model with the biggest being weight. However they also had a problem of very limited reticle selection. A year later Nightforce addressed the reticle issue, added zero-stop and went to mil-style turrets that don't need a cap and do 10 MOA per revolution vs 5 MOA for the 2013. I sold four 2013 models in the last year and replaced them with 2014's so that's where four of the for sale items came from.

While mostly I wanted to change reticles the zero stop is really sweet. I can go to a match and quite literally do my scope come-ups blindfolded.

They are also very popular, kind of expensive and hold their value well. I've been questioning if I really "need" four of them at $2,300+ new and may sell one. For what they're going for used it was a pretty good investment. And who knows what they may come out with for 2016?

The negative comments I've heard all came from the previous March importer. Very tacky in my opinion especially as I lost more money on the two March scopes I owned than the dozen or so Nightforces combined.

As always, JMHO.

Thanks, Dave.
I have owned about a dozen NF BR & NXS scopes with no issues.
They are just heavy and the NXS has 1/4 min. elevation and windage adjustments. I prefer 1/8 adjustments.
Love the repeatability and reliability.
Thanks again.

Dale,
As Mr. Berg stated there are a lot of reasons to go with a 2014 NF Competition. I have 3 F-Class rifles I shoot and two have Comp's and I just ordered a third to replace my NF BR 12-42x. i have found nothing I don't like about it.

Any idea when NF will announce their plans for the 2016 Comp. scopes????
