Nightforce Battery

I bought a used NF benchrest scope that does not have a battery. Can anyone tell me the type of battery that the br scopes require?

Thanks

Radio Shack sells this CR2032 battery bundled three on a card, purchased three when last there as have several things that use this battery.

Slight off topic, but does anyone actually use the lighted reticle? I have yet find the need to do so.

Yes, I have. One of those days with a heavy overcast & with it turned up to about midway it did make a difference. Much easier for me to find the dots on the NP-2DD.

My experience in a hunting application is that the lighted reticule inhibited the ability to use the scope. In low light levels IMO its worthless. Just a marketing gimmick.

+1 Agree on the 2DD

i use mine all the time during the winter, night hunting coyotes. They work very well, just turn the intensifier down to almost nothing, it won't mess with your night vision as bad, even though the ret is red.

ridgeway: There's your answer(s). They do have a purpose & are being used. I've noticed that Sightron is now including the lighted reticles on some of their newer models & Leupold also offers them. Other makes I'm not familiar with also have them. I have never seen the wafer type batteries leak, but I do check mine every so often to be sure. For those who never use it, take the battery out if you are concerned about it. For the rest of us: better to have it, and not need it, than to need it and not have it. JMO

Only one time. It was just after sundown and it was in the woods so it might as well been night. I turned it on and took my shot. Other than that I have onely turned it on to turn the intensity way down.
