Night varmiter scope??

I am looking for a god scope for night hunting predators. I an looking for something that will gather light well, and prefer a center lit reticle. Something with a center dot lit would be nice. I would also like to know from experience if the reticle obstructs the target at night even on the lowest setting. Looking for something in the $200 range.

What Gun.If its not to big a Simmons or a BSA will work well. Great on light calibers and you can get Ill recticles on almost all BSA scopes.

The gun will be a remington 597 22 mag. The only thing legal for night hunting in my area is a rimfire no larger than 22 caliber. Tim

I'm using a BSA with a lit duplex. It sounds like your shooting will be pretty close using the 22mag and a light. I know my duplex wouldn't cover to much of the target at 100-200 yards. I love the dot reticles but at night it might seem like there are three red eyes staring back at you. Some reticles will give a green glow too. If that was the main purpose of the scope I would go with something like that. I don't remember the cost but it's a 3 X 9 and I know it cost way under $100.00.
Night calling is cool.. Toot

I would prefer the green lit reticle. Does BSA offer that? Most shots will be well inside of a 100 yards. I know the lower the power on the scope the less light I will loose. It will also be used for day hunting for cats. I could get by with a 1.5-6x? with green dot would be wonderful.
