So much depends on your visual acuity at whatever age you might be. A first focal plane reticle grows as you increase magnification, a second focal plane reticle does not. For my use at this time I prefer the SFP for the reason you see in the photos above...the reticle maintains its size and enables me to more precisely get the POA that I want. If seeing a fine SFP X hair is a problem in various lighting situations and magnifications consider a FFP.
