Next PRS cartridge with no components?

Looking for advice here. I've been shooting PRS for almost 2 years now and I'm nearing the end of my 2nd barrel in 6.5 creed. I want to get away from the .264 bore for two reasons. 1: I want a little less recoil 2: I can't find RL16 or H4350 in large enough quantities to matter and I'm tired of searching the internet daily for 2 years like a crack addict..... Which leads into the sticky situation.....

The situation is the same for the BR family cartriges. Varget and H4895 are just as unobtainable. And don't get me started on bullets....

Am I missing something here? How are thousands of competitors shooting every weekend using all these uber popular components? Is there some secret underground society in the competition world that I'm not aware of? Rant complete.

Real question, next barrel will be a???? 25 creedmoor ( I have good inventory in brass and dies from 6.5 can be used) or a BR varient? (Of which I have nothing for besides 3lbs of varget that I stumbled across a year ago.) I feel like the struggle is gonna be the same either way, unless the powder shortage is coming to an end soon..... I'm leaning to 25 creed. Can someone change my mind?

With component shortages nothing is easy to shoot. Minus that, the 25 creed is fantastic but recoil is similar to the 6.5 creed. It’s less but not by much. The 6br’s, 6bra, 6 dasher etc has much less recoil

I'd be looking hard at,.. the 6 XC, 6 Creed or, 6 SLR for, PRS as, I see 6 MM Bullets, on / off, quite often and,.
they Recoil LESS and "Shoot good", UN- less, the Winds, Howling.
I have seen and passed up, 105 & 109 gr. Berger's, And 107 and 110 grain Sierra's because, I don't shoot PRS but, did pick up some 95 classic's and 108 grain, Elite Hunter, Berger's, recently.
Both, IMR 4350 and Win StaBall 65 ( are usually Available ) and will shoot, these Bullets,.. WELL !
My 6 XC is, a "Tack Driver" with, 80's, 95's and 108's in, the 1-7.5 Twist barrel !
Norma 6 XC Brass was available, a few Days ago at, Bruno's.
Almost everything is Tough to get right now,.. but IF you "search", it can be,.. found !

Have bought H4350 from 2 different suppliers in the past two weeks, it is out there just not easy to find. If you want lower recoil and longer barrel life then one of the 6mm variants would be the ticket. If you are having a hard time finding 6.5mm components then the 25 caliber would be even more difficult to locate.

I try to keep up with discord and notifications, but I can't keep tabs on it at work and nothing is ever in stock at 5pm when I get off work.

I have seen stabill, h380, imr4831, superformance all in stock this past week online, not sure if any of that will help you. Lucky for me I shoot giant cases and rl50 has been in stock everywhere lately. We are going to try to work up some kind of a load in the 6.5 creedmoors with h380 so we don't burn our stash of rl16 up this winter

Availability for H4350 has been better lately. If you decide to stay with your .264 caliber, availability for 142 gr Sierra MK’s has been ok lately. Not what you want but they keep you in the game.

I was at a gas gun Match Sunday. Cartridges of different flavors being used. 7 stages unlimited round count to shoot every stage. The gas gun shooters attacked every stage with a full 30 round mag. Impacts and time is the way they scored. Myself and my buddy shot bolt guns. Round count was not over 80.
Those gas gun shooters must have a lot of ammo. Brass everywhere, and they don't pick it up.

Blue Collar Reloading, call Whidden and get some information on what and when they may be expecting components. They will answer your questions.

22xc, 22 Creed, 22-250A with a 7 twist. 88 or 80 Hornady Eldm is what I would recommend until this 6mm bullet shortage blows over. Then when it does, you can use the same dies for 6mm.

Do yourself a favor and don't get married to a cartridge. This is what I have been telling my customers. People spending way too much on fancy builds and fancy barrels. I can put one of my customers into a barrel and dies cheaper than they can get a new barrel spun up.... so switching calibers doesn't hurt so much.

Think outside the box on your component selection, review your load manuals, burn charts, and you can come up with something competitive.
Yes this means you have to start from scratch, but it keeps you shooting versus sitting on your thumbs.
FWIW, I've never run 4350 in my 6five, and McGee stocks has 18,000
Lapua scenar 136L'S showing in stock on thier website as of yesterday.

I have some guys I shoot with that are making the 22 conversion for ease of bullet availability. Im anxious to see how they do.

I almost bought one of your BRA barrels a few months back, but didn't due to bullets.

I wouldn't say I'm married to a cartridge, but damn, H4350 or RL16 under a 140 hybrid was almost hard to make it shoot bad in my past 2 barrels. Now I can't find any of the above.

I know that the 25cal 135 Berger LRHT can be had right now and I'm tempted to just dive in for a couple barrels worth. That will leave me with just trying to find powder.

I have the 22 Credmoor reamer and the 22xc. Both would be excellent with the 75 Hornady eldm or 80 smk with a 8 twist and I have those in stock.
