News at Sightron Scopes

I have a 3.5 X 10 x 44 Series III Illuminated reticle scope. It came with Tactical knobs. The adjustment detents were very soft. When putting my rifle in a scabard case or pulling it up in the tree during my hunts I found the scope turrents would get turned without much effort. I found myself having to watch where the turrent was every time I took my gun out. I live in Youngsville and Sightron is close so I took my scope by to be checked out. The tec I met with, "Steve" is a first class guy. He first checked my scope and the detents were within spec. We discussed my options. 1. Add a second detent ball. and 2. Change the tactical turrents to target turrents that have protective covers. 3.Add a second detent ball and change to the target turrents. I chose the third option and got my scope back today. Just finished sighting it in and I was very pleased. For those who have Series III sciopes that seem a little soft this may be an answer to your needs.
Sightron is opening a custom shop for those who want something that is not offered but is available from their custom shop. This shows they want to please their customers as much as they can.

Is there anyway to contact them on having that done by email? I was jut thinking of a 10-50 but was concerned about the soft clicks....... jim

Nat, how long did it take from the time you dropped it until they were finished? We will be in NC for the month of May (granddaughter graduations). I have a 10-50 that has a black spec that appears every now and then. I was hoping I could bring it by and wait on it. I guess that is not possible.

I would suggest you call Sightron and ask for Steve. I left my scope with them before I left for the Shot Show (January 11th, I think) and picked it up today February 12. They called me since I live near by and invited me to see what options I had. They could not have been more professional. I would not expect same day service. Their shop will be closed for another week when they go to the European(sp) Shot Show.

Thanks, Nat. I will try and remind myself to call Steve about a month before we are due in NC. Maybe I can beg him to set aside and hour or two for me.

From all that I hear about these guys and their products I can say for sure that they will get my next scope purchase. Some of the old "standbies" have really dropped the customer service ball in recent years.
