Newbie

Just joined the forum today. I have recently joined a shooting club with a 300yd range, and being expanded to 500+yds. So, I would like to move away from my 7mm Rem Mag to a 6BR for bench rest shooting. For starters, I have been thinking about the Savage 12 F Class chambered in the 6 Norma BR. Should I consider a used 6BR also? I am an experienced reloader and uses mostly Redding dies. I know it's a big question to ask, but I would appreciate your thoughts on the best way to 'jump in' the 6BR world.

Thank you,
Ed

Yes definitely look for a used br rifle with a custom action. You will end up with a much better rifle than the Savage.

Used BR. Later you can customize/ upgrade to a solid action. Forgetaboud Buying a Salvage. Trigger is a step below matchlock.

Check with Bob White, Shooters Corner , he has a good selection of 6ppcs to select from. He will rechamber to 6BR . Catman

Ditto on the welcome. Besides the fun, bring your wallet so we can ALL help you spend your money as well. I can see that aspect of "the fun" has already started. Good luck and have fun!
