Newbie to longer range shoot in’

I just got home from introducing an old friend to some longer range shooting. Tom has shot the 200 yd. shoot at Camp Perry but never any farther. Today we started at 300 and worked out to 600 yds. He seemed to enjoy himself thoroughly. We shot both paper and my portable steel set-up. Tom actually had a three shot group at 300 that measured 0.474. When he was consistently hitting the 8 in. disc at 600, he had the biggest smile. I certainly enjoy watching the expressions on new shooters faces when they realize how much fun this really is. Keep shooting, everyone and take a friend to the range with you!

I am very fortunate that I work with new shooters on a regular basis. Sometimes they are women that attend the "Women On Target" event at our range while other times they are shooters that attend a match or seminar I put on. I've been involved with these programs for over 10 years and it always puts a smile on my face and in my heart when I see new shooters have success and enjoy what I am passionate about.
