New toy was delivered for the shop new HAAS TL1 Lathe

The program I built for the thread tenon uses 800 rpm for the threading cycle and it removes .005 per pass till it hits my minor thread diameter for fit. I haven't let it do a chamber on its own yet not ready to let it do that by program just yet this is the first chambering on this machine so I will be using the digital read out with the carriage to drive the reamer to set the headspace. I will probably get to the full cnc for chambering here soon as it saves a lot more time as an operator but dont want to mess up a clients barrel as he wants to hunt with it here in a few months and wants to do some load work before they take off on their hunting trip.

Well finally got some pics of the first custom built off the new HAAS TL-1 I had delivered last year. This is a Remington 700 I blueprinted by re-cutting the threads lug surfaces and receiver face. I installed a Hart 1-11" Twist Fluted barrel and installed and blended the Vais muzzle brake.I also Cerakoted the Barreled action. The client already has a jewel trigger in it, and the Bushnell elite 3200 Scope. I used new Ken Farrell Rings and 20 MOA base. My client also purchased the Bell and Carlson stock. I had to open the barrel channel to get the barrel to drop in and free float. I will have to post some pics of the post load development his is going to do.

I used some steel round stock bored the holes and matched the taper of the barrels and then cut a slit the length of the sleeve so I can tap it down on the barrel and then clamp it with the chuck. It grips tight enough I run the threading cycles and turning and reaming the brakes and such and never has slipped at all.

I guess great minds do think a like ::) :o! That's the same thing I'm doing, never had one slip either.

Completed another custom on the HAAS lathe. This is a .300 Win Mag Tactical Match with a Krieger Barrel, AWT chassis stock. I blueprinted the 700 action, Fit the barrel and Cerakoted it flat dark earth. It has a Badger 20 MOA rail and Rings and a Nightforce scope. Still waiting for the Gemtech Quickmount muzzle break.
