New Toy .22 x 47 Lapua

I have had my new .22 x 47 Lapua to the range twice. It is built on a Wichita rblp that has been Nickled over a fine sand blast. The barrel is a Broughton 5C finished at 29" with a big old muzzle break. The reamer was done by Dave Kiff using his Lapua chamber prints.
The load is 40.0 gns. of H-4350 with a Hornady 80gn. A-max.
The vel. is 3535 fps. with a E.S. of 6.
I have a lot more load testing to do as the bolt was a little stiff on opening. QuickLoad predicted the pressure to be in the
57,000 psi. range. I'm not convinced it's that low at this time.
The groups have been in the 3's at 100, But I've realy enjoyed blowing off those little metallic varmints at 600.
Well, more load development to do. Need more vel, less pressure.
John
P.S. The nickle case on the end was formed from a Federal .308
it has been fired 3 times and may be my best case. I only did it because a older clerk at the gun store said it could not be done.

looks great. I have a 28" 6mm rock 7.5 twist barrel siting here waiting for me to finish my action and install it. I got a reamer and dies on the way. What brass did you start with? Im not waiting on the slow boat with the lapua brass to start shooting. It will just be nicer to load for when the lapua 6.5-47 brass arrives.

What are you using as sizing dies?

I have been using two dies to resize the fired brass. The first step is to get the base of the fired case back to .2695" I use an old .243 AI FL die with the stem removed. Then I use my 6 x 47 SM. Redding full length die with a .249" bushing to size the rest of the case. The Redding SM. die is backed off of the shellholder .036" to account for the differance in the SM. and the Lapua shoulder location.
I like you, am looking forward to the arrival of the Lapua brass, I've ordered 500 pcs.

John, we are on the same page as I've been using my Tubb 6XC die to hit the base and also tried sizing using the RCBS 6x47SM FL die.
