New to the forum

Hello everyone I am new to this forum. I've been reloading about 40 years, shooting about 60 years, shot 4 position smallbore indoor for about 30 years . I'm most interested in varmint shooting nowadays.
I've been primarily shooting a custom built 25/06 for varmints using a 70 grain bullet. Anyone here tried these?

Welcome from the land of taxes, PA.

Fellow varmint hunter - eastern groundhogs. We have about the same amount of time in the sport both reloading and hunting.

I've used the Sierra 70 grn, 87 grn, and 117 grn in my 3 25/06 rifles. In my old A-bolt the 87 grainers will shoot 3/8" groups at a 100 if I do my part and the 117's go 5/8" at a 100yrds,v(5shot groups).

Have not tried the 70 gr bullets in mine but I use 85 gr BT’s and 115 BT’s in my 25/06. It also shoots the 75 gr V Max extremely well as also the 100 gr Sierra. I use the 85 gr Nosler BT for varmints. Extremely flat shooting and packs a punch when it gets there.
Welcome to the forum. There are a great bunch of guys here.

My newest toy is a custom 25/06 a friend of mine screwed together for me. I haven't really had a chance to dial it in yet as work and my beautiful wife claim most of my time.
The rifle features a Dumoulin action, a 27-3/4" Bartlein barrel, a Jard 5oz trigger, Bell&Carson stock topped off with a Bushnell Match Pro 5x30x56. With a bypod it weighs in at 13 lbs.
So far it shows promise, the 70 grain hunting loads print one ragged hole for 3 shots at a 100 yards.

Welcome to the best forum on the web. Looking forward to seeing your posts. 65 grain through 120’s shot good in the three I have owned, I no longer have any in that chambering but liked the 87’s for coyotes and other varmints and 117 interlocks for hunting.

Welcome friend, always good to see another shooter that knows what caliber to pick. My 25-06 is a Mod-70 Pre-war, built before Remington standardized it. I shoot the 75 gr. V-Max and 90gr. Blitz bullets. I used Nosler 120gr Partitions for deer and antelope.

I’m new here too. Had to leave other forums because they were so political. Sick of it. Just want to talk reloading

Welcome from PA, land of the second highest gas tax in America...yes, we are idiots.

That being said, yes, I loaded a pile of 75 grain 25 cal ibe ron a 25-06. Cuts a groundhog in half
