F-class is just a variation on the conventional long-range prone game. Instead of slinging up, the competitor rests the rifle on a bipod or a rest. Instead of sights, a scope is used. There are two broad catagories within F class: F/TR which is limited to .223 and .308 rifles and the open class in which you'll see a wide range of cartridges from little 6mmBR's to 6.5-284's and beyond...

Generally it's three strings of fire, each with 20 shots. This is slow fire competition, so the target is pulled and marked after each shot. During the day you'll rotate between shooting, pulling targets and working as a spotter/scorer on the firing line. I find F-class is one of the easiest forms of competition for a guy to get into, regarding equipment. If you've got an accurate, scoped rifle and a bipod, you can play.

Milanuk, who posted the first reply, is a fine F-class shooter with a lot of experience.

Regards, Guy
