New to caliber 6mmbr

Hello,
I just bought a barrel in 6br remington .270 neck 1in8 twist. I am new to the 6mmbr and somewhat confused. What is the difference in 6br remington and 6br norma? what brass do I use? I prefer lapua brass, But is suitable for 6br remington? Who makes good dies? I currently use redding competion dies for a couple of other calibers, do they make a good set of 6mmbr remington dies. The main purpose of this gun will be for competition out to 400 yds.
Thanks

Read the Sierra Loading Data link in your other thread. You do need to check and make sure they chambered it for the new version of the 6BR Remington, not the old which is shorter in the neck. If it is the new, you are good to go. Yes, Redding make competition dies for it, but Forster make just as good or better. I use the Forster Bushing/bump die and Ultra Micrometer seating die.

Use Lapua Blue Box brass. You should be OK for neck size, but measure some loaded rounds to be sure. I would expect they will be in the 0.268" range which is right at the limit for tightness. If they are any larger, you will have to neck turn. I believe the current thinking for a no turn neck with the blue box Lapua is 0.2704". Your chamber may be that dimension and someone just rounded the number off.

I wrote this answer elsewhere but have no problem repeating it for you. 6mm BR Remington was the original round it and the 6 mm BR are basically the same round but not Quite… the current trend is the Norma round It is the same as the Remington round in every way except for the shoulder. The Remington shoulder is 30 degrees while the Norma cartridge has a 60 degree shoulder.
‘The chambering is the big difference. The Chambering for the Remington was for bullets in the 75 grain range and the Norma chamberings are for the longer bullets of the 100 plus grain range. I am told the bullet that the chambering was sized for was the 105 grain Berger others tell me it was a 109 grain. I do not know the twist rate for the Remington but for the Norma it is 1:8 or one turn in 8 inches.
If you are in the barrel buying point of your build then the consensus is something in the 30 inch finished length is sort of looked at as about right.
Full length resizing your brass every time and always bump the shoulder back a bit. Do your own research on this aspect but it is agreed that it must be done along with sizing your necks for your chamber. Consistent neck tension holding your bullet and precise, consistent bullet seating is a must if accuracy is your goal. Once freebore is determined for your guns desired bullet seating depth must be adjusted to maintain it for what ever bullet you use. Different manufacturers and bullet types etc have different shaped ojives which will result in a change of “bullet jump” before engaging the lands. It is not the pointy end position of your length that must remain constant but the point at which your bullet engages the lands. View it as the “hip” part of the bullet
I hope this has been some help to you and not succeeded in making things more confusing.
