New to 6mmBR but getting frustrated...

I shoot only in an indoor range (so no wind) at 100 yards and I'm expecting from that rifle make a 3 shoots in 1 hole, that's my goal and I think the rifle should be capable (if not ill be so disappointed after spent all the money)

Ask yourself another question - are you capable of doing this?

Working up a 100yd load from a solid bench in a tunnel should be fairly basic stuff. The fact your struggling makes me wonder if you have not set your expectations a little too high at this stage?

It might be your barrel but equally it could be were your currently at in your load development journey?

If you are getting 3” groups at 100 yards indoors, something is bad wrong.

The only thing that I saw in your description was what looked like too much neck tension. That doesn’t qualify as “bad wrong”. Hard to tell without being on the scene. We need to find you a mentor.

2 thou under the diameter of a loaded round should be good starting point.

I have a BVSS with a custom barrel and pillar bedded. Loaned it to a friend that was a 6 BR “flat earther”. He’s now a 6 BR fanatic.

87gr vmaxs 30.5 Varget cci450 primers shoot really good in one of my Savages. I have shot several 1 hole 5 shot groups with it when the stars align correctly. Under .5 and averaging .3 to .4 is what I fully expect.

3 inches out at 100 yards is a lots. My foulers after cleaning the barrel generally stay under an inch.

What does your Es look like on the shot that leaves the group? Is your brass loading consistent? I have found that some pieces of brass don’t shoot like the others. I cull them once I verify this and use them for foulers.

More than once while at the range, I'd see a fellow shooter going bat-shi* crazy trying to get his new Savage to make a group, and then finally realize that his action screws or scope mounts were loose. One guys action was so loose, when it picked it up, his action actually wobbled so much I thought it was about to fall out of the stock. A torque wrench is your friend here and it appears you have one. Good start!

Scope mount screws: Remove the front scope mount and install it with only the front screw torqued. Is the mount secure? If not, shorten the screw until it is secure as the screw is bottoming out against the barrel tenon threads.

Also check for clearance around the rear tang of the action. I run a .005 feeler gage between the tang and the stock. Sand to make clearance if necessary.

I hope this helps! Let us know what you do to get'r shooting dots.
