They are addictive and I couldn't stop with just one.Any secrets?
Either, whichever performs the best.Do I use regular SRP's or SR magnums?
The 22 Creedmoor is even more Bad A** than the 6Any secrets?
Norma Brass, F-210M's, 107 SMK's @ Lite "Jam" into the Lands witth, 40.7 grains of, StaBall 65 "Thrown" works beautiffully with, 5 shot groups, in the. 2's and 3's,..Im using ADG brass Large rifle primers, H4350 and 108 eld-m
I have never tried A tips. One guy that shoots with me tried them and wasted 200 of them and just could not get them to work for him.I had terrible results with A-tips and regular SRP (BR4). SRP magnums (CCI450) was marginally better. Best results for me are with LRP (CCI200). I just loaded up some LRP magnums to test since I was able to pick up a few thousand recently. I'll also be testing RL-16 with SRP to see if it performs any better.
My barrel is 1:7 26" and using H4350.
You'll want to do a seating depth ladder, in my experience they are picky with seating depth. I had to go way deeper than I usually do.
Yeah, these A-tips are expensive and probably not worth it when compared to cheaper bullets that will perform just as well, if not better. I like them, but they are finicky.I have never tried A tips. Now I have some old Hornady A-MAX, 6.5, 140's, that one shooter was trying and made the claim that these weren't worth a $hit. Sold 800 of them to me for $80.00.
The next week I showed him my 7" group at 1,000 yds. He just shook his head. LOL....
Thanks for the detailed answer !!I have two 6mm Creedmoors. Haven't tried A-tips but have shot quite a few ELD-M's. Berger 108's and Sierra 107's fly really well for me. H4350, IMR-4350, RL17 seem to work equally well for me. Hornady brass, Lapua sp brass, & Peterson sp brass. I've used CCI LR, RP-9 1/2, Fed LR & GM & CCI #34 & BR2 large rifle primers all with good to very good results. I've used CCI BR4, 400 & 450, Wolf SRM, RP-7 /12, 6 1/2 & FED SRP with good results. Probably the best SR primer for me is the CCI450 or BR4. Winchester LR primers were very flat and not the most accurate and wouldn't use them if you have anything else. I tried RL15 with small primers and got hang fires. Hope this helps.

I love the 108's...maybe even my favorite bullet. They are easy to develop and not picky about seating depth.Today I did some testing on the 1000 yd range. I have been shooting the Hornady 105 Match's for about 3 years now. I have gotten great accuracy with them.
talking to a shooter at the 600 yd he told me about Hornady 108, ELD. Bought a 100 of them and figured the 1K range would be a good place to test them.
Took 10 of the 105's, 40.8gr H4350, CCI #41 primer, And 20 of the 108's, 40.8gr H4350, CCI #41 primer.
Shot 5 of the 105's and got a avg FPS at the 1000 target of 1443 FPS and 8.6 SD.
Shot 5 of the 108's and got a avg FPS at the 1000 yd target of 1523 FPS and 4.1 SD.
I picked up 80 FPS by going to a heaver bullet with a small increase in the BC of the bullet.
BC 105 - .530
BC 108 - .536
Was not able to measure the FPS at the muzzle because I did not bring the Crono.
All bullets were .030 off the lands. More testing on that to come latter.
Just got home and ordered some more 108's.
Thanks for the encouragement. This is the first time I have tried anything other than 105',. Bergers, Sierra and Barnes. The hornadys worked the best in my gun.I love the 108's...maybe even my favorite bullet. They are easy to develop and not picky about seating depth.
When I was load testing the A-tips, I wasted a lot of time and money on components because I had to do so much testing. I ended up with a good load, but it was long getting there.
BTW, my load for the 108's is also 40.8gr of H4350, but with CCI 200 primers and I'm 0.020 off the lands. That load gets me an ES of 16 and an SD of 5.
I'm currently doing another workup for the 108's because I got an 8lb keg of Reloder-16, so I'm going to try to get similar results with RL-16 vs H4350.
I couldn't find RL-16 either. I looked for months, then I walked into Sportsmans Warehouse a few weeks ago and as I was walking by the powder, I spotted a single 8lb keg. I tried not to trip trying to get to it before anyone else noticed it.Thanks for the encouragement. This is the first time I have tried anything other than 105',. Bergers, Sierra and Barnes. BTY, a lot of guys I shoot with would kill for the RL powder. I have not seen it on the shelves in over 1.5 years now. I did use RL about 3 years ago then it kinda disappeared around here. From what i remember I had good luck with it.
the same thing happened to me when I could not find H4350. I went on a 700 mile trip and said hey a gun shop. Walked in looked around and bang a #8 jug of H4350. I didn't care what it cost, I could not get the money out of my pocket fast enough and was looking over my shoulder to see if some was coming at me for it.I couldn't find RL-16 either.
