New target

Created a target for a friend today, “thread the needle”... Material is 1/2” AR550 center 6” , ring is 3/8“ AR500 10” with 5 1/4” hole. The spread is 10” and mounts on just 2 T posts for mowing around.

You’re one twisted individual! I hate those targets! Lol

or the over the ipsc shoulder to hit the target behind it. Those kick my butt too.

Very cool. Reminds me of a 3d archery shoot I did years ago. Steel target with hole. It was only about a 20-25yrd chip shot but that hole looks very small when faced with destroying a $12 arrow. Sounds cheap today compared to the cost of ammo but back then that was an expensive arrow. Lots of broken arrows on the ground at that target Luckily I center punched it.IMG_1136.jpgIMG_1137.jpg

Looks like that old post vise has seen a lot of work! My kids would love that target...Im gonna have to copy your design

Is that your pet bear in the background over your left shoulder, or another target?

I've shot targets similar to this. Makes a carbon arrow disappear real quick.

Well immike, what distance is your friend expecting to place this target of great frustration?
We just set it up and tested it.... It’s a duel purpose target, #1 muzzle loader Off Hand 50 yards from where we have matches, and #2 from his driveway 125 yards it’s a hunting rifle sight checker. We just fired a 7mag with 160’s on the ring and the center with No damage to the (Field and Cave) targets. I’m calling it a success and frustration, my buddy shot the ring first shot and had to buckle down on the 2nd one to hit the center. He’s a pretty good shot for a regular hunting boy. 7mag in synthetic is a handful. I’ve had another version of this target with a knock down ring ahead of the target, both targets fell and had to be reset each shot. So this is the improved version after you get past 60

target looks like a full sized air rifle field target. Have to thread the hole to hit a plate to knock the target down. Holes are generally between 3/8"-1", with targets anywhere up to 55 yards away.

Fun to create targets a bit different, helps add some variations to a match and based on shape and orientation makes the shooter think on where to hold based on the current conditions.

This month I'm adding a big twist to the match. Exactly in reverse. Starting farthest away and what would normally be the last target in a rack will now be the first. Should be interesting.
