New substitute for Varget?

At yesterday's match I overheard some folks talking about a new powder that's a cheaper, readily available, competitor to Varget. I was shooting at the time and just picked up bits and pieces of the chatter through my electronic ear muffs and didn't think to ask around afterward. Any idea what the chatter was about?

I have tried Enduron and while I have developed some accurate loads, I have a problem in that the powders leave a back smut in the barrel. I have assumed it is the decoppering agent. It cleans readily and I have not tried to see how long before the residue causes accuracy to fall off.

I still have a good supply of Varget but next time I order anything from MidSouth that needs Hazmat I am going to have them toss in a couple of pounds of that Shooters World Tactical Rifle D073-08

And when it comes unubtainum you have only yourselves to blame.
There goes my thinking of using more obscure components for my shooting needs.

Edit, I PM'd the OP of what I thought 2 viable options were after my 1 word response.
@Rob01 nailed 1 option 4166 is pushing
123 scenar's accurately @2900+ out of a 6.5cm 22" barrel.

Shooters World Precision Rifle S062 Smokeless Gun Powder

I decided to give this powder a try in place of Vargat. It is close enough in characteristics that I used the same weight to start with for loading. I got very good results. The next time I use it, I will do some extensive test for velocity as compared to Vargat and try to match it and see what happens.

$21.99 a lb at Midway.

And that would be option #2.
Hey @Nick Caprinolo I think some folks didnt hear you, maybe yell a lil louder next time.lol
I wasn't trying to shout. I copied and pasted the first line from an ad and the rest followed along with the same type size. Shouting is the use of all capitals. Anyway, I do like this powder as a substitute for Vargat. I do still have plenty of Vargat left on he shelf but the way things are going today, you can never have too much powder.

I've shot a good bit of SW Precision. It's a good powder.

It'll usually show pressure slightly before you hit Varget speeds; SDs/ES are routinely better than Varget. I've observed that behavior in .223 with heavies, 6GT, 6.5CM, and .308s (running the 20x).

The kernel size is all over the place though; You'll find logs in there the size of 4064, along with grains of sand. It doesn't meter well unless you're using an automatic dispenser.

While the NRA wasn't accepting scores during COVID, I shot 300 yard F-Class match using it with a suppressed .223 of all things (just playing with some 80gr SMKs). Seemed to be temp stable, even with the suppressor keeping that barrel smoking hot.

Edit: You can basically load it using Varget data. You'll end up with damn near identical charge weights.

I'm glad a lot of Varget lovers will not even look at it. I divorced Varget in '08. I've been happy ever since. H4895 which I have a bit of, and 48 pounds of SW powder coming on Wednesday.
