So, this morning I get ready to order one of the new Stocky's LR 700 REM composite stocks, (on sale $199) with the aluminum block. Sorry I don't know how to post a link but, it's highlighted on their homepage. Just to make sure I open up the safe and fish out the REM 700 I'm going to use for my new build. Lordy! It's a 700 with the DBM. I had just forgotten. This particular rifle has not been shot in over 15 years. So, Stocky's says that my only remedy is to get a Wyatt conversion, (which they sell for about $260) and will fit this new stock. I explore what I can and find a, "Kwik Klip" product at Cabelas that does the same thing as the Wyatt. So, I call Stocky's again and mention the conversion kit I found at Cabelas. I ask...If the Wyatt product will fit on the rifle why won't the Kwik Klip? they are both made for a 700 action. The lady, (she was very courteous) then states that the Wyatt was made for that specific stock. I thank her and say goodbye. So...I thought the Wyatt conversion has been around for a long time, how can all of a sudden it be made specifically for this stock, that just came out. Any ideas? Am I pi****g against the wind?
