LRC Montana is entering into its second season. LRC held four successful field practical matches and also grew from a six stage facility to a nine stage facility in 2016. Located near Three Forks, the facility has both a static and dynamic private range with high quality AR-500 steel ranging from 175 to 1400 yards. The range is "rustic" and embodies what you would expect from a Montana long range shooting facility; complete with the consistent wind blowing across the prairie.
The matches are structured so that even a rookie is able to effectively engage the targets and doesn't finish a match with a bad taste in the mouth because it was too difficult. However, it also presents a challenge for an experienced shooter. Because this is a new facility, sponsorship consists primarily of local entities but as it grows, hopefully so will support and sponsorship from the shooting community.
The first scheduled match for 2017 is February 11. This is just a "friendly" rust-breaker match with a $45 entry fee. Round count will be in the 70-90 range.
Most details can be found on the website, but feel free to reach out to the match director or you can contact me directly if you have questions on range membership or match details.
Thanks for looking.
