New Sig to Replace 205

Greetings fellow shooting enthusiasts,
I am new to this so please bear with me,

I have been shooting F-Class open with a Sig Sauer 205 in 6.5x55 topped with an NXS 12-42x50 scope.

I have recently decided to change my Sig and get one of the new Savage FTR rifles as i wish to get into F-TR due to its reduced cost factor and more level playing field.

This is where my problems arose. I cant find a gun dealer here in Ireland willing to take a Sig Sauer 205 as a trade in against a Savage FTR rifle. The story I'm getting from them is that Sig have ceased production of the 205 in order to make way for a new model, what I'm looking for here is whether anyone has any further info on this matter as Sig has served me well in the past 2 years and i would be interested in holding out for the new model if it would be a suitable alternative to the Savage FTR.

Sig 205 is one of the rifles, I've never seen in the US! In my eyes is the twin brother of the 202, and you want to replace it with a savage, I wish I could understand

Hi Duke,

Yeah the 205 was the target model. I no the change im talking about is like trading a Merc for a Lada and that iswhy im asking if anyone knows anything about the alleged new Sig Sauer rifle to replace the 205.

I have been doing some research since and I have found the Sauer SSG 3000, I wonder if anyone has any info on this rifle???

There is some truth on this as the Sig 205 disapeared from Sig Sauer website recently.
