New Sig 716, need load data!!

I recently got a Sig 716, 16" 1-10 twist, .308 Win/7.62 NATO. I'm wanting to load some 208 grain ELD Match rounds for it, but I'm having a hard time finding load data. The bullets have been around for a few months now, I figured some of y'all are bound to have worked up some loads! I appreciate any help I get. Thanks!!

I am going to say straight up say you should find another bullet besides the 208 Amax. Several issues arise:

You are limited to 2.800 OAL because of the magazine. If loaded to mag length, you will lose a ton of powder capacity.

Heavy bullets and slow burning powders are hard on gas guns and brass. This results in cratered primers, bent case rims, etc. It is generally harder on the gun as well, although AR's are much more tolerant than antiquated designs like the M1a.

That being said, I have experimented with 190 Noslers in my 18" AR, over mid-range charges of 2000-MR. It worked OK but was clearly not optimal.

I would stick with 150-175 gr bullets. If you are hell bent on the 208, try high energy, high density powders like 2000 MR or VV N 540.

There was a blog post by a member here that covered this very subject. The jist of the article was it is too heavy for the 308.

You're reading my mind man! I'd pretty much come to that conclusion myself, but I'm still interested in load data for my Savage Model 10 SPP. It's got a 20" Krieger with a 1/10 twist, so it loves those heavy bullets. I've gotten really good results with 220 grain SMK's, so I'm hopeful with the 208 Hornady ELD-Match bullets. If anyone has that data, I'd be most grateful. Probably gonna need some speed, so I'll start there. Thanks fellas!

I have a SIG 716, that I set up for HO class in 3gun. I had some difficulty getting it to group the way I wanted, which I partly attribute to the position sensitivity of the gun (big heavy gas piston system)

in any case, I settled on a 175 SIE, over 42.0 if I4064. it closely replicates the MR118 load, and runs very well, providing that I keep my hold consistent within the string. the 168 SIE also runs very well with the 10 twist, but I would not go heavier than the 175.
